Over/Under

What can I say? I am getting excited about dressing for fall.

Which looks better? Should the belt go underneath or on top of the cardigan? I can't decide.

You may notice that I am wearing more accessories than normal today. I was super excited to find the bracelet at a fair trade store called 10,000 Villages. It was made in Kenya by an artisan, and it is small enough that it actually fits my tiny wrists! I also bought the ring there, which is made of beads which form two little flowers. I think both pieces will be well loved this fall.

Sunglasses: Diane VonFurstenberg
Earrings: Francesca's
Cardigan: Old Navy
Tank: Gap Outlet
Belt: Forever 21
Bracelet and ring: 10,000 Villages
Skirt: Ann Taylor Factory Store
Shoes: Target

Wow, what a diverse outfit! Every piece is from a different store. I didn't notice until I finished the post! Yay for mixing and matching.

  1. Under...the belt should go under the cardigan 100%. Hi I'm Kasey, I know Katie through a friend from college Kate. I'm petite myself so enjoy the blog tailored to us.

  2. I prefer over. :)

Hi Kasey- It's good to hear from you :). How's married life? Kate is coming to visit at the end of Sept on her way to Peru! Yay!

  3. First off, I LOVE 10,000 Villages. We had one in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and I would visit all the time. In ours there was a small exotic cafe with excellent global food and atmosphere. That's awesome that you have one in Chicago!

Second, I do prefer the flyaway cardigan over your outfit. That way if you're cold you can wrap it around and if you're just walking around your flattered waist (from the belt) peeks through.

  4. I like the belt under the cardigan. So cute.

  5. I think both ways looks great - you could rotate how you do it just so you don't get tired of it and have a fresh look each time. But if I had to choose I guess I'd say over! :) Though, like Sunny pointed out, it can be more limiting to have it over.
